Wongjun Nunkong, Kitiya Totong

Abstract

At present, the problems of natural resources and environment are the serious crises that human beings are facing. The main cause of these problems is the infinite desires of humans. This has resulted in seeking everything to supply their wants regardless of environmental ethics. The consequences of which, deterioration of natural resources, environmental pollution and natural disasters threaten to the survival and security of humanity. Although humans are trying to find solutions to the environmental crisis by means of various forms over the last several decades, the environmental crisis situations are still worse and seem to be widely effected. Islam is a religion that teaches and practice guidance from one God. There are also guidelines to good practices for natural resources and the environment through faith or Islamic ethics. Islamic ethics is different from other religious ethics due to Islamic ethics having the holy Quran as principles for practice which covers all dimensions of people’s lives and it harmonizes with nature. This article presents the environmental ethics of Islamic ethics that can be applied to solve the problems of natural resources and the environment. It is also another approach to mitigate the impacts of natural resource destruction and environmental problems.
